College of Architecture
Interior Design
• All students in the College's Interior Design program (UNL and UNO) are required to lease, purchase or have ready access to a laptop computer that meets or exceeds the specifications listed below. Students in the Interior Design program are restricted to the PC platform. This notebook computer is an integral tool in architecture education.
• Computer requirements include: Microsoft Windows ME, 2000 or XP; Microsoft Office for Windows ME, 2000 or XP or Mac OSX; Internet Explorer 6.0 or Firefox 1.0, 56k modem (high-speed broadband preferred; firewall free)
• Compuer recommendations include: 1 GHz processor, 20GB hard drive, 256MB ram, sound card and speakers, external microphone, Web cam, 16 bit color monitor

 

College of Business Administration Online MBA Program
• Microsoft Windows ME, 2000 or XP
• Microsoft Office for Windows ME, 2000 or XP
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer
• 1 GHz processor
• 20 GB Hard Drive
• 256 Megabytes of RAM
• 56K modem, high speed connection preferred firewall-free
• Sound card and speakers
• 16 bit color monitor
• Printer

 

College of Journalism and Mass Communications
• It is required that all students enrolled in journalism graduate programs have computer and Internet capability with access to e-mail. The computer systems outlined will enable the student to connect to classmates and faculty outside the classroom and to take advantage of the rich resources of the World Wide Web.
• Computer requirements include:
PC: Windows®XP, 1600Mhz minimum, 256 MB RAM, Windows Media Player v9, high speed broadband, USB camera and headset with microphone
or
• Mac: Mac OS System 10.3, G4 processor 1000Mhz minimum, 256 MB RAM, Windows Media Player v9, high speed broadband, USB camera and headset with microphone
Journalism and Mass Communications utilizes multiple technologies; satellite, videostreaming and video conferencing. For specific computer information, contact Luther Hinrichs at lhinrichs1@unl.edu.

 

College of Education and Human Sciences
• PC: Windows 2000, XP, or 2003, Pentium processor, 600 MHz minimum
• MAC: Mac OS system 9.2 or later, G3 processor or better running 300 Mhz minimum
• Both platforms: 128 MB of RAM, 100 MB of hard disk space, CD-ROM drive, 56 kbps modem or (recommended) high-speed Internet connection
• Web browser: Firefox 1.0 (or later), Netscape Communicator 7.0 (or later) or Internet Explorer 6.0.
• For better access we recommend: At least 256 MB of RAM, a 15” monitor or larger, current Windows or Mac operating system, the latest version of either Firefox, Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator, and a high-speed internet connection.
• Students enrolled in a Blackboard course may begin the course at my.unl.edu.
