Program Description
The Master of Agriculture (M.Ag.) is a practitioner degree for individuals directly involved in agriculture and related industries. Although existing graduate degrees are targeted toward research and are primarily campus-based programs, the online Master of Agriculture caters to the unique educational needs of working professionals.The degree program may be completed entirely by distance education, although on-campus courses are also available to local candidates.
Program Requirements
CourseworkThe Master of Agriculture degree requirements include at least 36 hours of graduate coursework, including:
- Concentration Area.......................18 credits
- (A degree project is required for 3-6 credits)
- Secondary Area of Emphasis............9 credits
- Electives............................................Varies
Comprehensive Exams
In addition to coursework, a comprehensive examination is administered by the student’s supervisory committee, covering the program of study and the degree project. Where appropriate, a professional competency exam may be part of the comprehensive examination.
